BenQ has announced a new ultra-thin digital camera for fans of this slick gadgets. The new gadget got the code name BenQ X725.Well, as you can fancy, the main feat of this camera is its thickness, or probably better to say the lack of it. So when describing the camera I would rather choose to say 0.5 inches (12.5 mm) thin, than 0.5 inches thick.
I guess you've seen the commercial, with the girl desperately trying to put her really tight jeans on, and when she does it, she easily slides her Motorola V3 into her back pocket. The BenQ X725 camera probably wouldn't slide that easily in any pocket, but I'm sure it's more comfortable to carry, than some other cameras.
The gadget is equipped with a new implementation fro BenQ, called Shake-Free system, which means you'll get sharper and more qualitative photos even when you shake the camera or when you can't hold it without any vibration, as when in a car for example.
The BenQ X725 camera is based on a 1/2.5 matrix with a 7 megapixel of picture quality. The Pentax lens takes care of everything related to qualitative amateur photos in this device.
The original specifications of the camera have many, many other wise things to say about the gadget, but I'll probably skip all of that, because I don't really know what they mean.
What I know is that the least you should have between you and your shooting target is about 15.7 inches (40 cm) in any other mode than macro mode, which requires at least 5.9 inches (15 cm).
As for the color temperature, it can be set automatically or chosen manually from different values, which are ISO 100/200/400/800/1600/4000.
The BenQ X725 can take photos with a resolution of 3072 × 2304, as well as filming small video clips with a standard resolution of 640 × 480 with 30 frames per minute. The files are stored on SD cards, or on the built-in 12 MB memory, which is not so much for a camera, making 7 megapixel photos. So when using the internal memory, be sure to set the photo quality on minimum.
What I like the most about this camera is its LCD display. I was always crazy about big "screen TVs" on cameras and the BenQX725 has implemented the biggest, or one of the biggest displays for a digital camera. I'm sorry! There were too many words in that sentence to say that the gadget is equipped with a 2.5 inch LCD display.
As for the zoom - it's a 4x optical zoom, which should be enough for amateur photography. In its file sharing abilities, among others, like taking the card out of the slot and using a card reader, or using the USB port, the gadget is equipped with the PictBridge printing technology. So If you have a PictBridge enabled printer, don't hesitate to use it.
And the last bits of information about the gadget: the average price in Europe is of about 170 Euros for the camera, which is about 0, so not that expensive for a camera. What you get for this money is a 3.58 × 2.36 × 0.5 inch camera, weighing about 0.26 pounds (120 grams). And you also get to use some power of choice, I mean you'll get to pick one of the black, perl, silver or red colored cases.
Enjoy the photo shooting!
